2023 ATV Reviews: Prices & Specs

An ATV, also known as a quad, quad bike, four-wheeler, or quadricycle is a vehicle that travels on four tires, with a seat that is straddled by the operator, along with handlebars for steering control. They can come in many different configurations including sport and  utility style.

2023 ATV Reviews: Prices & Specs

The ATV market is expanding every year and customers are calling them some of the most fun and functional vehicles on the market. They are very practical and serve all sorts of purposes, but if you’re looking to just have some fun there is nothing like throwing your leg over an ATV and hitting the trails.

Let’s take a look at the 10 most popular ATV’s of 2023:

1. Polaris Sportsman 450 HO

If you’re familiar with the Polaris ATV lineup then at first glance the 450 HO (High Output) might look similar to the well known ETX model. But it’s actually a much better machine with added suspension, power, and comfort. The most appealing aspect though is how capable this 4×4 trail conquering machine is, especially for its very reasonable price.

2. Yamaha Raptor 700

If you’re looking to hit the trails or dunes this season, then power should be your priority. Lucky for you, that’s exactly what the Yamaha Raptor 700 is built for. This ATV comes in two trim packages, standard and special edition. Regardless of which you chose, the Raptor is one of the best options to take on the dunes, dirt, or even just messing around in your yard.

3. Honda Recon 250

This manual-shift ATV continues to be a favorite among riders and is a similar platform to the Honda TRX250 with a utility body that includes racks and floorboards. The rugged features, stylish looks, and get-it-done attitude along with its 229 cc OHV engine are truly amazing.

4. Yamaha Kodiak 700

The new Yamaha Kodiak has been built with farmers, hunters, and others with similar occupations/hobbies specifically in mind. But if that’s not you and you’ve taken a liking to this particular ATV don’t fret, this machine can handle the trails like a boss just as easily. You really get the best of both worlds with this one, it really takes the phrase “work hard, play harder” to heart.  Capable is the Yamaha Kodiak’s middle name.

5. Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS

This ATV probably has one of the best engines in the entire lineup of Polaris; the 570cc has been used in several other model line-ups such as the Ace, Ranger, and RZR. The Sportsman is compact, powerful, and offers a serious amount of control for tackling the tough trails and hills. This is the first time Polaris has manufactured such a powerhouse of an ATV with a great starting price. This model also comes in the “touring 2-seat” configurations.

6. Kawasaki Brute Force 300

The Brute Force 300 is the most popular ATV manufactured by Kawasaki mainly due to the amount of “bang for your buck” that you get. It is powered by a single-cylinder 271 cc, 4-stroke engine tuned to deliver torque at low RPM’s. Kawasaki paired it with a CVT which makes the performance all the more responsive, then slapped on a reasonable price tag. That’s what I call a win-win. The Brute force also comes in some pretty kick-ass color schemes too.

7. Yamaha YFZ450R

The high performance of the Yamaha YFZ450R combined with its race-ready engine makes it fly past the competition. This ATV repeatedly takes podium placings in all the most popular off road racing circuits like GNCC. This machine is built to win with its Advanced Frame, Fuel Injection and Assist-and-Slipper clutch.

8. Honda TRX250X

We’ve got a ton of high performing ATV’s on this list and the HOnda TRX250X is no exception.. It comes with everything we’ve grown to expect from a Honda,  reliability, quality, durability, and so on. No matter the year or trim of the TRX250X you can be satisfied knowing that it’s going to get the task at hand done and done well.

9. Cam-Am Outlander X mr 1000

This Outlander X mr 1000 doesn’t just dominate in the mud, but it looks quite impressive while doing so. It has been built to conquer each and every mud hole it comes up against. It is one of the first ATV’s designed to be specifically for mud holes while other ATV’s require you to extensively customize with aftermarket accessories. It comes equipped with Fox shocks, Gorilla Axles, Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) and a top mounted air box.

10. Suzuki Kingquad 750 AXi

Over the last few years, it might look like Suzuki hasn’t put much development into their ATV segment, but all that has changed with the Kingquad. This is one of the best ATVs they have released in a long-time and there’s a ton of reasons why. Often referred to as “the ultimate 4×4 machine”, it can take you into the deepest darkest riding areas around the country and bring you back in one piece.
