Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000: First Look & Review

If you are a fan of off-roading, racing, or trail riding, then you may have heard about the all-new vehicle class unveiled by Yamaha, The 2022 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000. This UTV class comes in 3 different models; The 2022 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000 Sport, the 2022 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000 R-Spec, and the 2022 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000 Limited Edition.

Design

With a few exceptions, the three models have a very similar design. These side-by-side vehicles have two premium cut-and-sew comfort seats and plenty of legroom to prioritize the safety and comfort of the occupants. They also feature a heavy-duty door with a molded outer skin, a steel inner structure, a molded inner panel for a quality feel, and a 63 percent larger opening than previous models.

Additionally, the vehicles have a tilt steering wheel that is adjustable up to 17 degrees and a soft-touch passenger handhold. They also include a comfortable sunroof and advanced heavy-duty comfort-focused suspension to ensure maximum comfort.

Furthermore, they have plenty of storage space, including a 5.5-liter sealed glove box, a 2.7-liter center console, and center console cubbies. Also, they have an interior light package to cater to low-light conditions.

The distinctive styling of the bodywork and tires distinguishes the three models. The 2022 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000 limited edition has a premium Matte Silver/Pearl Whitecoat, a color-matched interior, and a minimalist graphics set, while the other two models have different coats and illustrations.

Besides that, the R-spec comes equipped with GBC dirt commander 2.0 tires, whereas the XT-R and Limited Edition versions come with Maxxis Carnivore tires.

Performance

This Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000 lineup features a powerful 999cc eight-valve parallel-twin engine that delivers class-leading power and smooth performance. The three models are great for challenging terrain thanks to their 30-inch tires, world-class suspension, and a wheelbase designed for a balanced contact-to-ground feel.

They also have a maximum ground clearance of 13.8 inches, allowing the wheels to absorb road shocks and pass over obstacles. The heavy-duty suspension provides a smooth, balanced ride with high articulation at low speeds and high bottom resistance at high speeds.

Furthermore, the new Fox 2.0 shocks, available on all four tires, provide 14.2-inch travel up front and 16.9-inch travel in the rear. The shocks are adjustable via a switch in the cockpit, allowing for relaxed driving and increased damping when out on the trail. You will not have to get out of the car to change the damping settings.

The models feature a tilting cargo bed that can transport up to 600 pounds to simplify hauling duties. They can tow up to 2000 pounds if you add a standard 2-inch receiver. Their 30-inch tires have a comfortable yet sturdy sidewall feel, precise steering characteristics, and a transitional terrain-focused tread pattern that offers traction in various conditions.

Conclusion

The 2022 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000 class lineup offers an excellent balance of power and comfort. The lineup’s design can withstand challenging terrain and accommodate aggressive drivers while providing maximum comfort to the occupants owing to its comfortable cabin design.

As a result, the 2022 Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000 class lineup is ideal for riding on the open road, on rocks, and in the woods.
